Toronto Pearson International Airport is the largest airport in Canada, connecting the city to the rest of the world. See our map of YYZ here.
Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) is the main airport serving Toronto and the surrounding metropolitan region. It is the largest and busiest airport in Canada and the primary hub for Air Canada. It also serves as a focus city for WestJet and is a hub for cargo airline FedEx Express. It is located 22.5km (14mi) northwest of Downtown Toronto and maintains facilities for United States border preclearance.
The airport has two terminals, named Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. In the map at the top of the page you can find the location of each terminal and the gates. Each terminal has its own pick-up and drop-off location.
Terminal 1 is the largest airport terminal in Canada and the 12th largest terminal in the world by floor space. Air Canada and all other Star Alliance airlines at the airport are based at Terminal 1. The terminal has 58 gates. Terminal 1 is home to the ThyssenKrupp Express Walkway, the world’s fastest moving walkway.
In addition to the standard customs and immigration facilities, Terminal 1 also has special customs checkpoints on its international arrivals walkway. These allow passengers connecting from international flights to other non-U.S. destinations from having to recheck their bags and pass through security clearings a second time.
Terminal 3 serves as a hub for Porter Airlines and WestJet, a focus city for Air Transat and an operating base for Flair Airlines and Sunwing Airlines. Terminal 3 has 46 gates.
The two terminals are connected by Terminal Link, an airport people mover, which facilitates inter-terminal transportation at the airport between the two terminals and Toronto Pearson Viscount station. The Terminal Link train operates daily, with 24-hour service and trains departing from all stations every 4 to 8 minutes.
There are a variety of shopping and dining options, conveniently located both before and after security clearances in both terminals. These include several sit-down restaurants and takeout options including cafes and shops featuring the latest in high-end fashion and electronics.
Duty Free shopping is available for international travelers in Terminal 1 and Terminal 3.
Terminal 1 has a total of eight lounges. Five of these are operated by Air Canada and three are operated by Plaza Premium.
Terminal 3 has an Admirals Club in the U.S. preclearance departures area.
Train – The Union Pearson Express (UP Express) provides a 25-minute airport rail link to Union Station, Canada’s busiest intermodal transportation facility. Trains depart every 15 minutes from Terminal 1 and operate daily between 5:27 am and 12:57 am. Travelers from Terminal 3 can reach UP Express using the Terminal Link.
Bus – Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) operates daily, 24-hour public transit bus service from both terminals at Pearson to several subway stations in Toronto. The route 900 Airport Express buses have unique airport-themed livery and luggage racks. Although the airport terminals are located outside of city limits, TTC bus services operating from the airport do not require a supplemental fare.
Taxi – Taxis and limousines are available from designated taxi stands at both terminals. Only official airport-licensed taxis and limousines can legally pick up passengers at the airport. All airport-licensed taxi and limo services are required to use flat fares for travel from the airport.
Rideshare – Designated rideshare pickup zones are located at ground level for Terminal 1 and at the arrivals level of Terminal 3.
Car rentals – Various car rental agencies can be found in the parking garages adjacent to both terminals. Car rentals can also be found off-airport grounds near the Toronto Pearson Viscount station.
Viscount station is the northerly terminus of the Terminal Link automated people mover. It features a long term discount multi-story parking garage and hotel, in addition to several regional bus connections.
