Los Angeles International Airport, commonly known as LAX, is one of the most important hubs connecting the US to the rest of the world. The airport is on the top ten list of the busiest airports worldwide and provides more than 180 direct connections to airports around the world. LAX is also a hub for major American operators such as Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines. The airport is located about 30 kilometers southwest of downtown Los Angeles.

Each terminal has between 8 and 20 gates, and are numbered from 1 to 8 (with the exception of Terminal B).
