HotelBuilt in the 1930s, Calgary International Airport (YYC) is one of Canada’s busiest hubs. It serves the city of Calgary in Alberta and is located about 17 km northeast of its downtown area. YYC welcomed over 18.5 million passengers in 2023, re-establishing itself as one of the country’s busiest airports.
As of today, YYC is used by about 15 airlines offering flights to over 30 domestic destinations and about 50 international ones in the US, Latin America, Europe, and Asia. This airport also serves as the primary hub for WestJet.
Calgary Airport consists of two terminals connected by a walkway and a shuttle. This passes through Concourses A, C, and D/E in a loop and operates between 6:00 am and 1:00 am.
Domestic Terminal: The Domestic Terminal is the oldest one and was opened in 1977. The first floor is for arrivals, while the second is for departures and features gates, and check-in desks. There is also a mezzanine level with several restaurants and airline offices. This terminal is divided into three concourses: A - C.
International Terminal: The International Terminal opened its doors to the public in 2016. The first floor is used for arrivals, while the second and the third are for international departures. More specifically, the third floor is used for flights heading to the USA. This terminal is home to the D and E gates.
The airport features two hotels for those wanting to spend the night here: Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel and Delta Hotels Calgary Airport In-Terminal Hotel.
