Vancouver International Airport (YVR) is the second busiest airport in Canada, welcoming almost 25 million travelers in 2023. Offering over 100 destinations in Canada, the US, Mexico, the Caribbean, Asia, the South Pacific, and Europe, it is used by over 50 airlines for their operations. YVR also serves as a hub for Air Canada and WestJet.
The airport has two terminals, the Main Terminal and the South Terminal. A free shuttle connects the two.
Main Terminal: This terminal is divided into five Concourses (A - E). Concourses A and B serve Canadian flights only. Concourses D and E are for international flights. Lastly, concourse C is for both international and domestic destinations.
South Terminal: The South Terminal is for Canadian regional airlines only.
If you’re planning to spend the night at the airport, you can book a room at Fairmont Vancouver Airport. This is the only hotel within Vancouver International Airport and offers day rooms. There are also several other nearby accommodations, some of which offer a complimentary shuttle to the airport.
Vancouver International Airport has a variety of eateries to choose from, with several international cuisines. If you are vegetarian you will also find plenty of options. Renowned food chains such as Starbucks and Subway are also available. The South Terminal has limited options compared to the Main Terminal.
The most convenient way to reach the airport is by train, with the Canada Line. You can use this to head to downtown Vancouver in less than 30 minutes. Car rental agencies are also available on-site.
