Also known as Galileo Galilei Airport, Pisa International Airport (PSA) is one of the main hubs in Tuscany, along with Florence Airport. In 2023, it handled over 5.1 million passengers, re-establishing itself as one of the busiest airports in Italy. PSA is located about 2 km south of Pisa's city center. This airport also serves as a focus city for Ryanair, and over 15 airlines currently operate their flights here.
Pisa International Airport consists of a single terminal building with Schengen and a non-Schengen area. The airport has two runways and 16 gates numbered Gates 01-11, located on the ground floor, and Gates 21-25, on the first level. Gates on the ground floor serve Schengen flights, while the ones on the first floor are for non-Schengen destinations.
Unfortunately, there are no cabins or sleeping pods inside the airport. However, there are plenty of accommodations that can be reached with a quick walk from the terminal.
The airport is home to a MacDonald's and a few other eateries. Here, you will also find a duty-free store and some other shops selling all sorts of goods. PSA also features a couple of lounges and luggage storage.
Pisa Airport is incredibly close to the center and you can easily walk there. However, some transportation options are also available:
