Falcone Borsellino Airport (PMO) is one of the two main airports in Sicily together with Catania–Fontanarossa Airport. Back in 2023, it handled over 8 million passengers, and today, it remains one of the busiest in Italy. About 30 airlines operate flights here, connecting Palermo to over 90 destinations. Most of these are located in Europe, but there are a few exceptions in North Africa. Once known as Punta Raisi Airport, PMO is located at Cinisi, a city about 35 km northwest of Palermo.
Palermo Airport has a single terminal with three floors. The ground floor is used for the arrivals, while the first floor is home to the ticket office and check-ins. Lastly, the second floor is for security checks and gates.
Unfortunately, there are no sleeping cabins or hotels inside the airport. However, there are a few accommodations nearby that can be reached with a quick drive.
Palermo Airport is home to several local cafés and eateries where you will be able to have a bite before your flight. Here, you will also find a few boutiques selling clothes and other products, along with a duty-free store. The airport also features a small convenience store for last-minute purchases.
Here are some popular ways to travel to and from the airport.
