Also known as Vincenzo Bellini Airport, Catania Fontanarossa Airport (CTA) is the main hub in Sicily, Italy's largest island. In 2023, over 10 million passengers traveled to this airport thanks to the roughly 80 airlines operating their flights here. CTA has direct flights to approximately 70 destinations, mostly in Europe, but with a few exceptions in other parts of the world.
The airport consists of two terminals conveniently located next to each other.
Terminal A: This terminal was inaugurated in 2007 and now features 55 check-ins and 12 security gates.
Terminal C: Completed in 2018, this is the newest terminal, home to 6 check-in desks and five boarding gates.
Those wanting to spend the night here can book a room in one of the many accommodations near the airport. You will have plenty of options only a quick 15-minute walk away from the terminals.
The airport is home to a duty-free store and several eateries serving local cuisine.
The best way to reach the airport is by train. Fontanarossa train station is a quick 15-minute walk away. If you don't want to walk, you can use the AMTS shuttle. Several buses also connect the airport to Catania city center and other locations in Sicily. If you prefer to drive, you can also rent a car from one of the many agencies at the airport.
