César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport (ACE) is one of the busiest airports in the Canary Islands and welcomed over 8 million passengers in 2023, mostly from Germany and the UK. Often abbreviated to Lanzarote Airport, it is used by about 40 airlines offering direct flights to roughly 85 destinations, mostly in Europe. This airport is located about 5 km southwest of the capital of the island, Arrecife.
This airport consists of two main terminals. The two are located in separate buildings but are close to each other, meaning you’ll be able to move between them on foot.
Terminal 1: Terminal 1 is the newest terminal handling both domestic and international flights. On the first floor, you will find 42 check-in desks, gates 1-12, and security checks. Arrivals, baggage claims, and passport controls are located on the ground floor.
Terminal 2: This terminal is used for inter-island flights only. Unlike Terminal 1, all facilities and services are located on the ground floor.
Unfortunately, this airport is not equipped with transit hotels or sleeping cabins. However, you will find several accommodations in the towns nearby.
Most eateries are located in Terminal 1, which is also home to renowned fast-food chains, such as KFC and Burger King. This terminal also has a duty-free store and a few other boutiques.
There are two main ways to reach the airport: by bus and by taxi. If you prefer to opt for the former, bus 22 connects the airport to Arrecife from 5:30 am to 11.00 pm. Buses depart every 40-50 minutes and only work Monday to Friday. Alternatively, you can get a taxi, which will cost you only a few euros.
