HotelThe airport consists of a single terminal, making it easy for travelers to find their gate. In 2011, it underwent a significant expansion, considerably extending the terminal area. The works ended in 2015 and resulted in an increase in the number of check-in counters, gates, and baggage belts.
Unfortunately, there are no hotels or sleeping pods at Gran Canaria Airport. However, there are a few nearby accommodations that you can reach with a quick 5/10 minute drive.
Gran Canaria Airport is home to a few restaurants and cafés, including Starbucks and Burger King, where you’ll be able to relax while awaiting your flight. Passengers can also kill time browsing through the Duty-Free store or checking out one of the souvenir shops to surprise their friends and relatives with a little present.
There are a few ways to move around Gran Canaria Island once you have landed at the airport. Passengers can choose to rent a car from one of the local agencies located in the terminal or opt for a taxi. If going for the latter, you should always opt for the signed taxi rank at the terminal to avoid scams. Another good option is bus 1, connecting Gran Canaria Airport to the island’s capital and the tourist area of Puerto de Mogán.
