Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (SYD), also simply referred to as “Sydney Airport” is the main international airport serving Sydney, the most populous city in Australia. It is the busiest airport in Oceania and the 48th busiest airport in the world.
It serves as a primary hub for Australia’s national flag carrier, Qantas. It also serves as a secondary hub for Virgin Australia and Jetstar. It is responsible for servicing 46 domestic and 43 international destinations directly.
The airport has three terminals. They are named Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.
Terminal 1: Also known as the International Terminal. It serves all international flights. It is located in the northwestern area of the airport complex.
It has two piers:
Pier B: Gates 8-10, 24-29, 30-37. Used for Qantas, Oneworld, SkyTeam (except Delta Air Lines) members.
Pier C: Gates 50-63. Used by Virgin Australia and its partners (including Delta) and Star Alliance.
Terminal 2: Located in the airport’s northeastern section. Serves domestic destinations.
Terminal 3: Located in the northeastern section adjacent to Terminal 2. Serves flights under the Qantas and QantasLink banner.
Terminal 1 and Terminals 2, 3 are located a short ride away from each other. It is not possible to walk between Terminal 1 and Terminals 2 and 3.

There are many options for travelers to choose from when it comes to getting food at the airport. Conveniently located both before and after security in all three terminals, there are plenty of cafes, fast food and casual dining selections, bars and restaurants to keep you satisfied.
There are so many choices when it comes to shopping at the airport. These include travel essentials, fashion, apparel and accessories, many luxury brand specialty stores, souvenirs, bookstores, electronics and duty-free shopping.
The airport also offers travelers several options when it comes to hotel stays. There are hotels located conveniently close to Terminal 1 and Terminals 2 and 3:
Train: Sydney central business district (CBD) can be reached by train from the airport in 13 minutes. Airport Link runs services every 10 minutes. Services can be reached from the Arrivals level in all three terminals.
Taxi: Taxi and rideshare options are available in front of all terminals, by following the posted signs.
Car rentals: Rental car agencies operate counters at each terminal. These are located in the Arrivals area.
Parking: The airport offers several parking options for guests. These include valet parking, priority services, budget-friendly alternatives, and spaces reserved for motorcycles.
