Located about 6 km west of Adelaide's central business district, Adelaide International Airport (ADL) is one of Australia's main hubs. Between June 2023 and June 2024, it welcomed a total of 8.5 million passengers thanks to its many domestic and international destinations.

ADL now has direct routes to 6 international destinations in the Middle East, South East Asia, and other countries in Oceania, as well as 15 domestic flights. About 25 companies operate here: ten international, four domestic, five regional, and six charter airlines.

Adelaide Airport has a single terminal building divided into three levels.

  • Level 1: This is the ground floor. It is mainly used for arrivals, both international and domestic, and features amenities such as baggage reclaim desks and meet and greet areas.

  • Level 2: Level 2 is used by departing passengers. It's equipped with check-in desks, security screening, and gates, along with a variety of restaurants and shops.

  • Level 3: The last floor is used both by arriving and departing passengers as well as those in transit. It has immigration services for arriving passengers, screening for those on transfer and departing travelers boarding international flights, and several lounges.

Those planning to spend the night here can do so at Atura Adelaide Airport, which can be reached with a quick walk from the terminal.

Services at Adelaide International Airport

This airport has plenty of amenities for its passengers, such as baggage lockers, several family facilities, showers, and free wifi. ADL also features several eateries, including bakeries, cafès, and fast-food chains, as well as a variety of stores selling all sorts of goods. A duty-free area is also available.

Traveling To and From Adelaide International Airport

  • Public Transport: The Adelaide Metro connects the airport with the city center.

  • Car Hire: Several car rental agencies are also located on-site.

  • Taxi: You can also opt for a taxi. The drop-off location is between the Atura Hotel and the terminal building. Otherwise, apps such as Uber, Ola, and Didi are also available.
