Melbourne Airport (MEL), known locally as “Tullamarine Airport” is the main international airport serving Melbourne, the capital of the Australian state of Victoria. It has the second-most passenger traffic of any airport in Australia.
The airport operates 24-hours, 7-days a week, and serves as a major hub for Qantas and Virgin Australia. It is also used as a main operating base for Jetstar and Rex Airlines. Located 18km (11mi) northwest of the Melbourne city centre, it has its own postcode and suburb.
The airport has four terminals. They are named, Terminal 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Terminal 1: Hosts domestic and regional services. Primarily handles flights for Qantas and its subsidiary QantasLink. Arrivals area is located on the ground floor. Departures are located on the first floor.
Terminal 2: Handles all international, and some domestic flights. Features an expanded satellite terminal, connected by an above-ground corridor.
Terminal 3: Home to Virgin Australia. It features eleven parking bays served by single aerobridges and eight parking bays not equipped with aerobridges.
Terminal 4: Dedicated to handling flights for low-cost carriers. It offers fewer amenities and retailers than most conventional terminals. Check-in and baggage services are on the ground floor. Food court, shops, lounges and departures and arrivals area are located on the first floor.
There are many dining options for travelers to explore while they are at the airport. These include juice bars, cafes, sports bars, quick bites and takeaway, vegan options and high-quality sit-down restaurants.
The airport has many shops for travelers to enjoy and explore. These include gifts, souvenirs, beauty, health and cosmetic solutions, pharmacy, fashion, apparel and accessories, in addition to the latest in electronics and duty-free shopping.
There are many lounges for travelers to relax and enjoy in throughout the airport. These are conveniently located across all four terminals and include both membership and open access pay options.

Bus: SkyBus runs express services between the airport and Southern Cross Station in Melbourne city. These depart every 10-15 minutes between 4am-1am. SkyBus stops directly outside Terminals 1, 3 and 4.
SkyBus also runs the Peninsula Express service between Melbourne Airport and St Kilda, and surrounding suburbs.
Public Transport Victoria (PTV) also operates services from the Terminal 4 Ground Transport Hub.

Car rentals: Rental car companies can be found at the airport located on the ground floor of the Terminal Car Park, directly opposite Terminal 2. The Terminal Car Park is accessible via the walkways from the terminals.
Parking: The airport offers several parking features and services. These include valet parking, business services, express parking, priority access, and value parking with terminal access via shuttle bus.
