Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) is one of four airports that serve the Miami metropolitan area. It is located 3mi (5km) southwest of downtown Fort Lauderdale and 21mi (34km) north of Miami.
The airport serves as the primary hub in South Florida for Southwest Airlines. It is classified by the US Federal Aviation Administration as a “major hub” facility serving commercial air traffic.
The airport has four terminals. They are conveniently named, Terminal 1, Terminal 2, Terminal 3, and Terminal 4.
Terminal 1 (The New Terminal): Also known as the “Yellow Terminal.”
Terminal 2: Also known as the “Red Terminal.”
Terminal 3: Also known as the “Purple Terminal.”
Terminal 4: Also known as the “Green Terminal.”
The airport offers a wide variety of dining selections for travelers to choose from. These are conveniently located both before and after security in all four terminals. Dining options at the airport include cafes, takeaway, fast food, sit-down restaurants, and licensed bars.
Shops at the airport include the latest in technology, press, newspapers, convenience, pharmacy, gifts and souvenirs, cosmetics, beauty, fashion, accessories, and specialty retailers.
Rental cars: Many rental car agencies operate at the airport, out of a single building. It is named the Rental Car Center (RCC), located next to Terminal 1.

Public transit: Broward County Transit (BCT) is available with daily services via Route 1. BCT bus stops at the Rental Car Center, Stop G.
Commuter train Tri-Rail also services the local area. Free shuttle buses run from the airport terminals to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport Station at Dania Beach.

Intercity Rail: Intercity rail operator Brightline offers shuttle services between the airport and its South Florida locations. The shuttle service operates Monday to Sunday 7:00am-8:00pm from the following locations:
