With over 4 million passengers welcomed in 2023, Corfu International Airport (CFU) remains one of the busiest in Greece. Also known as Ioannis Kapodistrias Airport, CFU is located about 2 km south of Corfu Town and is used by roughly 40 airlines for their operations. Most flights here are seasonal (operating from April to October) due to the huge popularity of Corfu as a summer destination. In the winter, this airport only has direct connections to seven European countries: Italy, the UK, Ireland, The Netherlands, Germany, France, and, of course, some domestic flights to other Greek areas.
Corfu Airport only has one terminal, making it quite easy for people to find their way. This is divided into three concourses (A-C), all adjacent to each other. Passengers can access the building from its east side, while the runway, which has recently been renovated, is on the west side.
Unfortunately, there are no hotels or sleeping pods inside the airport. Those wishing to spend the night here can book a room in one of the nearby accommodations, which can be reached within a 10-15 minute walk from the terminal.
The airport only features a few shops, including a Hellenic Duty-Free Store. Here, you will also find some restaurants and cafés, including Starbucks and Burger King, where you’ll be able to relax and have a bite before your flight. Those seeking more comfort can use the Business Lounge on the first floor of the Extra Schengen Area. CFU also features ATMs, currency exchange desks, and free Wi-Fi.
If you’re about to travel to or from this airport, here are some transportation options you should consider.
Taxi: Cabs are located outside the terminal building and provide transfers to all areas in Corfu.
Bus: Line 15 connects the airport to Corfu Town (San Rocco Square), passing through the Intercity Bus Station. You can find more information on the bus’ official website.
Car Hire: Several car rental agencies are also available at the airport.
Those traveling to the airport in their own car can park in the parking area outside the terminal. If you’re staying for less than twenty minutes, you can park for free. Prices are available on the airport’s official page.
