Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC), also known as Dubai World Central is a major international airport in the United Arab Emirates. It is located in the port town of Jebel Ali, approximately 37 kilometres (23 mi) southwest of Dubai, the nation’s capital and its most populous city.
The airport is the focal point of Dubai South, a planned economic zone that will feature residential, commercial and logistics activities. The airport is currently undergoing a major expansion project to become the largest airport in the world. While it is not currently finished construction, by the time the current expansion project is complete, expected by 2030, the revamped Dubai World Central is set to replace the current Dubai International Airport.
The airport consists of a single passenger terminal building. The departures check-in and ticketing area is located to the right side of the main entrance area at the front of the terminal building.
Past the check-in area is the baggage loading area for passengers to check their luggage with airlines before boarding the plane. Once cleared through the check-in and baggage areas, passengers will head to the centrally located passport and security control area. From here, the Departures boarding area is located to the north side of the three-winged terminal building.
The Arrivals Hall is located on the west side of the terminal building. This is on the left side when facing the front of the terminal building from the exterior. Baggage claim stations can be found to the left side of the airport, opposite the check-in and ticketing areas. There is also a passport control and customs zone located adjacent to the baggage claim stations.
You can view our map at the top of this page to see a visual representation of the terminal’s three-winged layout and the location of its pick-up and drop-off areas, along with the security checkpoint area to the right of the main entrance.
