With over 15 million passengers handled in a single year, Porto Airport (OPO) is the second busiest airport in Portugal. Over 30 airlines operate flights from here, offering over 100 destinations. Most of these are in Europe, but there are some international exceptions, such as Morocco. Also known as Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, this airport is roughly 11 km northwest of the center of Porto. It also serves as a base for some airlines, such as TAP Air Portugal, EasyJet, and Ryanair.
Porto Airport consists of a single terminal building, making it easy for you to find your gate. Gates 14 -22 are located in the north part of the building, gates 29-35 are in the middle, while gates 01-13 are in the airport's southern area.
There are no sleeping cabins or transit hotels at Porto Airport. However, you will find plenty of nearby options that can be easily reached by foot. Some of these include Park Hotel Porto Aeroporto and Singular Aeroporto.
The airport has a few restaurants and cafés, including a Burger King. In terms of shopping, there is a duty-free store as well as a few other shops selling all kinds of goods.
You can reach the airport by metro, bus, shuttle, and taxi.
Metro: Line E connects Porto Airport to the city center. The metro runs roughly every 20 to 30 minutes.
Bus: Two companies, STCP and Resende, connect the terminal with several areas in Porto. You can also take a Flixbus to reach other destinations in the country.
Shuttle: Several shuttle companies operate in this airport. You can check Porto’s official website to find your favorite.
Taxi: Taxi ranks are located outside the terminal and operate on a 24/7 schedule.
