Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS), also informally known as “Lisbon Airport”, is an international airport serving Lisbon, the capital and most populous city of Portugal. It is the 12th largest airport in Europe and its busiest single-runway airport.
It serves as the main hub for Portugal’s flag carrier, TAP Air Portugal, and is a hub for low-cost carriers Ryanair and easyJet. It is a focus city for Azores Airlines, euroAtlantic Airways, Hi Fly, and White Airways. The airport is located 7km (4 nautical miles) northeast of Lisbon’s city centre.
The airport has two terminals. They are named, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Terminal 1: This is the main building. It features two check-in halls, one of which is used for TAP AirPortugal’s self check-in area. It also features a joint departures area.
Most airlines use Terminal 1, including TAP Air Portugal, its Star Alliance partners, and Oneworld.
Terminal 2: This is the smaller, but newer of the two buildings. It is located away from Terminal 1 on the southern border of the airport perimeter. It is used exclusively by low-cost carriers.
Airlines operating from Terminal 2 include Ryanair, Wizz Air, Transavia, Transavia France, Vueling, Eurowings, and Norwegian Air Shuttle.
The location of the terminals, along with their gates, and the pick-up and drop-off locations for the airport can be found using our map at the top of this page.
Lisbon Airport has several dining options to choose from, mainly found in Terminal 1. These include cafes and bakery, fast food, beerhouses, international and local cuisine.
Terminal 1 also features a wide range of shops for travelers including handicrafts and gifts, books and news, fashion and accessories, technology, watches and jewelry, travel goods, beauty and cosmetics, duty free shopping, and more.
Most of the airport’s facilities are located in Terminal 1. Only a few shops and service counters are available in Terminal 2.
Metro: The airport has a Metro (subway) station with a direct line to the city centre. Transit time takes approximately 10-20 minutes.
Bus: City and intercity buses operate stops near the Arrivals terminal. City buses have restrictions on the size of luggage that can be taken onboard.
Taxi: Taxis are available by queueing outside the departures and arrivals areas. The airport advises that the cost of reaching the city centre should be approximately between 10 and 15 euros.
Car rentals: Several car rental agencies operate at the airport. They can be found in the Arrivals Hall.
Parking: Several parking options are available at the airport. These include parking with direct terminal access, covered and uncovered parking lots, and more.
