Faro Airport, officially called Faro-Gago Coutinho International Airport, is one of the main airports in Portugal and welcomed over 9 million passengers in 2023. It offers flights to about 70 destinations, mainly in Europe, and it is used by roughly 30 airlines.
Faro Airport has a single terminal building divided into two floors. You will find check-in desks, security, passport controls, and arrivals on the ground floor, while the gates, stores, and restaurants are located on the first floor.
There are no hotels inside the terminal. Luckily, however, you will find a few accommodations that can be reached with a quick 10-15 minute walk from the airport. You can try to book a room at Hotel 3k Faro Aeroporto or Sleep & Go Faro Airport Guest House, both of which are located less than two km from the terminal.
The airport has several eateries, including world-renowned fast-food chains and cafès like Subway, Costa Coffee, and Burger King.
Faro Airport is only four km west of the city center, meaning you'll be able to reach Faro quickly. Several buses also connect the airport to the city center. You can also rent a car from one of the car rental agencies available at the terminal. Once you reach Faro, you will have several buses and trains to travel to plenty of destinations in Portugal.
