HotelNantes Atlantique Airport (NTE) is one of the airports serving the French region of the Pays de La Loire in the northwest area of the country. About 20 airlines operate here, offering flights to all corners of the world. The airport now has roughly 70 direct connections to European destinations, 15 to five African countries - Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, and Senegal - and three to America. Once known as Aéroport Château Bougon, NTE is located approximately 8 km southwest of Nantes in a town called Bouguenais. In 2023, it served 6.5 million passengers, re-establishing itself as one of the main hubs in the area.
The airport consists of a single terminal building extending over two floors.
Ground Floor: This level is home to most services as amenities. Here, you will find the check-ins, some boarding gates, and arrivals.
First Floor: This floor features some extra boarding gates and has a few stores and restaurants.
Nantes Airport’s official page recommends three hotels: Hotel Oceania, Hotel Escale Oceania, and B&B Hotel. Hotel Oceania has a free shuttle service to the airport and is equipped with a tennis court, swimming pool, and gym. Hotel Escale Oceania also offers a shuttle service to the airport on request, from 06:30 am to 11:00 pm, and gives its guests access to all the facilities of the neighboring Oceania Hotel. Lastly, B&B Hotel does not have a shuttle service, but it can be reached by a quick walk from the terminal.
Nantes airport is home to eight restaurants and cafés including Starbucks, La Brioche Dorée, and Prêt À Manger. There are also a few stores, including a duty-free on the first floor. The airport is equipped with ATMs, a currency exchange desk, and unlimited free Wi-Fi.
Below are some popular ways to travel to and from the airport:
Shuttle: A shuttle connects the airport with Nantes city center and the railway station. It departs every 20-30 minutes and leaves from Hôtel Dieu. This service is not available from midnight to 4:30 am.
Taxi: Taxi stands are located outside the exit to Hall 1. However, if you pre-booked a taxi, you will find it at a special rank in front of the car rental building. A trip to the city center costs between 30 to 35 euros.
Car Rental: Several car rental agencies are located outside the terminal, near the parking areas.
If you are arriving in your own car, you will have three parking areas to choose from. The ECO area is the low-cost one, the Proximite one is close to the terminal, while P1 Couvert has a direct entry to the airport. If you’re staying for less than 10 minutes, you can use the free drop-off point outside the terminal.
