Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport (BOD) is one of the main hubs in southwestern France and served 6.6 million passengers in 2023. As of today, 22 airlines operate their flights here, offering 128 direct routes to 25 countries. Travelers heading here will find flights to several European countries as well as some destinations in North Africa, in particular Morocco and Algeria.

BOD is located in the commune of Mérignac, roughly 12 km west of Bordeaux city center, and it serves as a base for Volotea and EasyJet.

Bordeaux Airport has three terminals: Hall A, Hall B, and Terminal Billi.

• Hall A: This terminal is divided into two floors. The upper level is for departures, while the ground floor is for arrivals. This is the main building and is used by several airlines, including Vueling, Air Arabia, Aegean Airlines, Tunisair, Luxair, Iberia, KLM, and Volotea.
• Hall B: Similarly to Hall A, Hall B has two floors, with departures located on the upper level and arrivals on the ground floor. This building is used by Air France for all its operations and features a clear view of the runways.
• Terminal Billi: This terminal is used by low-cost companies, such as EasyJet and Ryanair.

Hotels at Bordeaux Airport

Since October 2024, Bordeaux Airport has been closed to the public from midnight to 3 AM, meaning that spending the night here is now impossible. On the bright side, there are a few hotels located near the terminals. You can use the self-service machines in Hall A to book a room in one of these accommodations, such as Hôtel Sheraton Bordeaux Airport and Zenitude Bordeaux Aéroport.

Eating at Shopping Bordeaux–Mérignac Airport

All terminals have a few eateries and cafès where you can have a bite to eat, but Hall A has the vastest selection. Starbucks is located in all terminals, and La Brioche Dorée is in both Halls A and B. You will find duty-free stores in Hall A and Terminal Billi, along with other shops selling traditional French food, perfumes, and more.

Transportation at Bordeaux Airport

There are plenty of ways to reach Bordeaux Airport.

• Tram: Tram line A connects the airport with Bordeaux city center, with a few stops along the way. You can find the stop in front of Hall B. Trams depart roughly every 10 minutes from 5:00 AM to midnight.
• Train: If you need to catch a train, use the 30’Direct shuttle to get a direct ride to Bordeaux Saint-Jean train station. The shuttle departed from Hall B and has free wifi. You can buy your ticket online from the official website to get a 10% discount.
• Bus: Corol 39 connects the airport to the two neighborhoods of Le Haillan and Pessac.
• Car rental: If you prefer to drive, you will find several rental car agencies at the airport, including Sixt, Avid, and Budget.
