Roughly 20 km east of Lyon city center, Lyon-Saint-Exupéry Airport (LYS) is one of the country's main airports. In 2023, it welcomed 10 million passengers, and today it is used by almost 50 airlines to operate their flights. Offering roughly 120 destinations worldwide, it's unsurprising that this remains one of France's busiest airports.
Lyon-Saint-Exupéry Airport consists of two connected terminal buildings, making it easy for travelers to travel between them.
Terminal 1: This terminal consists of three main areas. The former welcomes Gates F and G and is the oldest part of the terminal. The second has a circular design and is home to gates B and C. The third is a satellite building connected via a tunnel to the terminal, where gates D are located.
Terminal 2: This terminal is a copy of the old area of Terminal 1 and welcome gates P and Q. It is mainly used for flights operated by Volotea and Air Arabia.

The best way to reach Lyon-Saint-Exupéry Airport is the Rhônexpress tram/train. Only two minutes by foot from both terminals, this tram stops at Lyon Part-Dieu station, Vaulx-En-Velin La Soie, and Meyzieu ZI. Thanks to lines 47 and 48, the airport can also be reached by bus. Car rental agencies, including Sixt, Hertz, Thrifty, Avis, Budget, Alamo, National, Enterprise, and Europcar, are also available.
