HotelLocated in the Tân Bình district of Ho Chi Minh City, Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport (SGN) is one of the busiest airports not only in Vietnam and Southeast Asia but in the entire world. In 2023, over 40 million passengers departed or arrived at this airport, often causing congestion. If you are flying here, keep in mind that there may be long queues, so ensure you have enough time.
Despite being Vietnam’s busiest airport, Ho Chi Minh Airport only has two terminals. The two are close to each other, so, in case of transfer, you can easily reach your terminal on foot.
A new terminal, Terminal 3, is also under construction. According to current plans, this building will support Terminal 1 and serve domestic flights.
If you need a few hours of sleep, you can book a cabin at Sasco Sleep Zone at the international terminal. Outside the airport, you will also find several hotels that can easily be reached with a 10/15 minute walk.
Both terminals have plenty of eateries and cafés to choose from, including famous fast-food chains and Vietnamese options. Duty-free is also available along with stores selling all sorts of goods.
Once you land, you will have several options to reach the city center. Several buses also connect the airport with Ho Chi Minh City. Alternatively, you can opt for Grab. This is the Southeast Asian equivalent of Uber, making it easy for travelers to catch a ride. Unfortunately, however, you will need data on your phone to use its app. Taxis are also available but beware of scams. Only trust people working at the official taxi stands.
