Riga Airport (RIX) is an international airport serving Riga, the capital and most populous city of Latvia. The airport serves as a hub for airBaltic, SmartLynx Airlines, and RAF-Avia, and is one of the base airports for Ryanair. Latvian national carrier airBaltic is the largest carrier serving the airport, followed by Ryanair.
Located 10km west of the Riga city centre, it is the largest airport located within the Baltic states.
The airport features a single, two-storey passenger terminal building.
The landside area of the terminal features a single row of 36 check-in counters, a security area and some shops on the upper floor. On the ground floor of the landside is the Arrivals area, baggage reclaims, and service counters.
The airside area of the terminal is divided into two piers:
Pier B: Schengen Area departures and arrivals.
Pier C: Non-Schengen Area departures and arrivals.
The airport features several dining options for travelers including cafes, takeout and bakeries, in addition to several sit-down restaurants and bars. Among retail outlets located at the airport are Narvesen, Costa Coffee, and TGI Fridays.
Shops located inside the airport feature a wide range of options for passengers. These include such items as health and organic beauty products, bags and accessories, perfumes and fragrances, cosmetics, fashion, gold, watches and jewelry, the latest in electronics, duty free shopping and more.
There is a business lounge at the airport, Primeclass Lounge, where guests can relax, unwind and enjoy premium and complimentary service offerings. It operates 5:00am-11:00pm and is available to all departing passengers as well as those in transit from non-Schengen countries with a valid Schengen visa.
The Kepler Club is a hotel located inside the terminal. It is available for both departing and arriving passengers and can be accessed from either landside or airside guests at the airport. It offers sleeping rooms, showers and meeting room facilities among others.
Shuttle Bus: Lux Express Shuttle provides service between the airport and the city centre. The bus stop for arrivals can be found to the right after leaving Arrivals exit E.
Public Bus: Bus number 22 provides routes to the city centre. The bus stop is located in the P1 car park, between arrival exits E and C.
International Transit: The bus stop for international carriers is located in short-term parking lot P1, opposite the exit from the Departures area. Services are offered to neighbouring countries Lithuania, Estonia, and others.
Taxi: Taxi services are available outside the Arrival halls.
Car rental: Car rental offices are located on the ground floor of Arrivals Hall E.
Parking: Parking is located approximately a 7-minute walk from the Departures area. Transfer services are available for passengers, free of charge. Short-term, long-term parking is available. EV charging stations are also available.
AirBaltic and the Latvian Civil Aviation Agency maintain their head offices at the airport.
