Located about 16 km north of Bucharest city center, Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP) is the main airport in Romania. Over 30 airlines operate here, offering direct flights to destinations all over the world. This airport also serves as headquarters for TAROM, the flag carrier of Romania, and is a base for several airlines, including Ryanair and Wizz Air.
Despite being Romania’s number one airport, Bucharest Airport only has one terminal divided into three main areas. A building for the departures, one for the arrivals, and an airside area where the gates are located. The arrival and departure buildings are connected through a walkway where several stores are located.
Unfortunately, there are no hotels or sleeping pods inside the airport. However, if you prefer to spend the night here, you will find several accommodations nearby. Some of these include Hilton Garden Inn Bucharest Airport and Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Airport Bucharest. You can reach both hotels with a quick walk from the terminal.
Many restaurants and cafés are located in the food court in the airside area of the terminal. The other areas are also home to a few eateries. The airport also features some shops for last-minute purchases.
Once you land, you will have plenty of options to reach Bucharest city center or other places in Romania.
