Oslo Airport (OSL), alternatively known as Oslo Gardermoen Airport, or simply as “Gardermoen” is an international airport serving Oslo, the capital and most populous city of Norway. It is a hub for Scandinavian Airlines and an operating base for Norwegian Air Shuttle and Wideroo.
It is the second-busiest Nordic airport and the 19th busiest airport in Europe. It is located 19 nautical miles (35km, 22mi) northeast of Oslo.
The airport has one terminal. The terminal has four piers:
West Pier: Gates A. Also connects to the South Pier.
South Pier: Gates B. These are used for Schengen and international flights. When configured for international flights, a shuttle bus transports passengers from Gates G (G1-G8) in the international area.
North Pier: Gates C, D. Gates C are used for domestic flights. Gates D are used for international flights. The two northernmost gates in this pier are only used for international flights. The top floor of the North Pier is used for domestic flights, and the lower floor is used for international flights.
East Pier: Gates E, F. Gates E are used for Schengen area flights. Gates F are used for non-Schengen area flights, and are located at the easternmost end of the pier.
A notable feature of this airport is that it is “silent”. This means that announcements for flights are only made in the vicinity of the gate.
Also of note, many international passengers connecting to domestic flights will have to pick up their luggage, clear customs, and check-in their bags before boarding again.
The location of the airport’s pick-up and drop-off area, and its gates, can be found using our map at the top of this page.
Oslo Airport has a variety of dining options available to choose from. These include coffee shops, bakeries, prepared foods for takeaway, kid’s menus, gluten-free and vegetarian selections, bars and restaurants.
The airport features a wide range of shops for travelers including the latest in electronics, gifts, perfume and cosmetics, bookstores, jewelry, fashion and Europe’s largest duty free store.
Additionally, there are several lounges where guests can unwind and enjoy premium amenities. These can be found in both the domestic and international areas of the terminal, near Gates A and E.
The airport has two hotels located only a short walk from the terminal. These are the Radisson RED, and Radisson BLU Hotel. Facilities include fitness center, restaurants, bars and a golf simulator, located in the Blu Hotel.
