Norfolk International Airport (ORF) serves the Hampton Roads metropolitan area of southeast Virginia along with northeast North Carolina. Despite its name, the airport does not currently offer any regular services for international routes.

This airport is the 65th busiest airport in the United States, and the third-busiest airport in the state of Virginia. It is categorized as a small hub airport by the FAA. Delta Air Lines has the largest share of passenger traffic at the airport, followed by Southwest Airlines and American Airlines.

Norfolk Airport: Terminal and gate map

The airport consists of a single main terminal building. It has two Concourses A and B for handling Departures, along with an Arrivals Hall that is located adjacent to the main lobby of the terminal building.

Next to the main pickup and drop-off area for the airport, is the centrally located building which contains the main lobby area. This area, which is also referred to as the Main Terminal consists of two levels.

On the lower level are the ticketing stations for the various airlines. On the upper level are located flight information centres, airport administration desks, business lounges, conference centres and dining and shops.

Beyond the Main Terminal hosting the lobby area, there are two Concourses, A and B, for departing passengers with boarding gates.

Concourse A: Is located to the north side of the terminal area. It contains Gates A1-A11 and boarding gates for Southwest, American Airlines, and Allegiant Air along with smaller charter and international flights.

Concourse B: Is located to the south side of the terminal area. It contains Gates B16-B30 and boarding gates for Delta, United, Frontier and Spirit Airlines, and Breeze Airways.

Located to the north and west side of the main lobby area of the airport, is the Arrivals Hall.

Here, passengers can find the baggage claim zones, along with the counters for the various rental car companies that operate at the airport.

There is a pedestrian walkway and bridge that connects the Arrivals Hall to the main lobby area.
