Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL), also known simply as “Honolulu International Airport”, is the largest and busiest airport on the island of Hawaii. It is located 3mi (4.8km) northwest of Honolulu’s central business district.

The airport serves as the main hub of Hawaiian Airlines. It is also an operational hub for several cargo airlines, and Mokulele Airlines, a small regional Hawaiian carrier. It is classified as a large-hub commercial facility, and services flights throughout North America, Asia and Oceania.

Honolulu Airport: Terminal and gate map

The airport consists of two terminals. These are named, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

Terminal 1: (formerly known as the “Interisland Terminal”) is the smaller of the two terminal buildings and is located on the west side of the airport complex.

  • Gates A: Gates A1-A12 are located at the north end of the terminal. Gates A13-A20 are located centrally in the terminal.
  • Gates B: Gates B1-B5 are located on the south side of the terminal.

Terminal 2: (formerly known as the “Overseas Terminal”) it is the larger of the two terminals and the only terminal that is capable of handling international arrivals and departures. It is located on the south side of the airport complex.

  • Gates C: Gates C1-C9 are located in the southwest corner of the terminal.
  • Gates D: Gates D1-D2 are located on the west side of the main concourse of the terminal.
  • Gates E: Gates E1-E10 are located in the south pier of the terminal.
  • Gates F: Gates F1-F2 are located on the east side of the main concourse of the terminal.
  • Gates G: Gates G1-G10 are located in the southeast corner of the terminal.

Terminals 1 and 2 are connected to each other on the post-security side of the airport. Passengers can travel between either side using a bridge walkway, or the airport’s free shuttle service.
