The airport serves as the main hub of Hawaiian Airlines. It is also an operational hub for several cargo airlines, and Mokulele Airlines, a small regional Hawaiian carrier. It is classified as a large-hub commercial facility, and services flights throughout North America, Asia and Oceania.
The airport consists of two terminals. These are named, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.
Terminal 1: (formerly known as the “Interisland Terminal”) is the smaller of the two terminal buildings and is located on the west side of the airport complex.

Terminals 1 and 2 are connected to each other on the post-security side of the airport. Passengers can travel between either side using a bridge walkway, or the airport’s free shuttle service.
