São Paulo Airport (GRU), commonly referred to as São Paulo/Guarulhos International Airport, or Cumbica Airport, is the primary airport serving São Paulo. It is the busiest airport in Brazil, and one of the largest airports in the world.
It is located 25km (16mi) from downtown São Paulo. Some of its facilities are shared with the São Paulo Air Force Base of the Brazilian Air Force.
The airport has three passenger terminals. They are named Terminal 1, 2, 3, in order from left to right when arriving at the airport from the airport access road.
Terminal 1: The smallest and simplest of the three terminal buildings. Handles only domestic flights for Azul. Terminal 1 does not have direct access to the other terminals. Terminals 2 and 3 can only be reached by free shuttle bus from Terminal 1.
Terminal 2: The oldest and largest of the three terminal buildings. Handles the majority of domestic flights to destinations in Latin America, and some international flights.
Terminal 3: The newest and most modern of the three terminals. It only features international flights. Handles most of LATAM Group’s Latin American flights, as well as most long-haul flights at the airport.
Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 are directly connected by a walkway link.
The Airport offers free shuttle buses between Terminals 1, 2 and 3. Shuttle buses have the airport’s identification on them and make stops at the Arrivals area of each terminal. Services run every 15 minutes. Operating hours are 4:00am-12:00am.
There are many dining options for travelers and guests to choose from at the airport, with many of these conveniently being located within the public area, prior to the security checkpoints. Food options at the airport include coffees, ice cream, candy shops, restaurants and bars.
