Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport (BUD) is the international airport serving Budapest, the capital and most populous city of Hungary. It is the largest of the country’s four commercial airports and is located 16km (8.5 nautical miles) southeast of the center of Budapest.
The airport offers connections primarily within Europe. It is the headquarters and primary hub for Wizz Air and a base for Ryanair. The airport is commonly referred to as “Ferihegy,” the name of the surrounding neighbourhood.
The airport has two terminals, Terminal 2A and Terminal 2B. They are connected by the Sky Court building between them.
Terminal 2A: Serves all Schengen destinations (Gates A). Check-in hall serves all SkyTeam and Star Alliance members
Terminal 2B: Serves all non-Schengen destinations (Gates B). Check-in hall serves all flights of the OneWorld-alliance. Check-in desks for Hungarian low-cost airliner Wizz Air can also be found at this terminal.
Sky Court: Located between Terminal 2A and Terminal 2B and consists of five levels. It contains passenger safety checks, baggage processors, business class lounges, as well as shops and restuarants.

The airport has several dining options for travelers to choose from. These include cafes, restaurants, fast food and bars.
The airport has many shops for travelers to explore. These include newspaper and bookstores, fashion, cosmetics, jewelry, gifts, souvenirs, a candy store, convenience and duty-free items.
There are several lounges available at the airport where can travelers can relax and unwind. These can be found in both terminals and the Sky Court area.
Ibis Styles Budapest Airport is the only hotel located directly at the Liszt Ferenc Budapest International Airport. It includes 145 rooms, a banquet hall, bar and restaurant, and many other facilities on offer.
Bus: 100E Airport Express shuttle service provides a direct connection between the airport and Budapest city centre. Buses operate 24/7, departing every 6-12 minutes during the day, 10-20 minutes during the morning and evening, and every 20-40 minutes at night. Note that passengers require a special ticket for the 100E Airport Express. These can be purchased at BKK customer service centres, or vending machines at the airport. Tickets can also be purchased using the BudapestGO app.
Train: The closest train station to Budapest Airport is Ferihegy. It is accessible from the airport using bus number 200E. Ferihegy operates nearly 100 trains daily to and from the Nyugati railway station in Budapest, including InterCity services. Transit between Ferihegy and the Nyugati station takes approximately less than one half hour.
Taxi: Főtaxi services are available at the aiport, located at the exits of Terminal 2A and Terminal 2B.
Car rental: Several car rental companies operate at the airport. These can be located in Terminal 2A, Terminal 2B, and the Sky Court.
Parking: There are many parking services for travelers at the airport. These include preferred parking with direct terminal access, covered lots, long-term stays, electric vehicle charging stations, and off-site remote lots, with shuttle bus services available.
