El Dorado International Airport, serving the capital of Colombia, is one of the main hubs in Latin America. Here is a map of its terminals.
Mostly located in Fontibón, a district of Bogotá, El Dorado International Airport (BOG) is the main airport in Colombia and is now used by over 25 airlines. It serves as the main hub for the country’s flag carrier, Avianca, and is a base for other airlines, including Satena and LATAM Colombia. Offering direct routes for the entire American continent, Europe, and beyond, this remains a main hub not only in Colombia but for all the countries in Latin America.
The airport is divided into two terminals connected by a shuttle bus departing every 20 minutes.
Terminal 1: Terminal 1 is the oldest terminal and serves both domestic and international flights. It’s divided into three floors and a mezzanine level. Most services, such as gates, arrivals, and check-in desks, are located on levels 1 and 2.
Terminal 2: This is the newest terminal and is used for domestic flights only. It features two levels and is smaller in size compared to Terminal 1.
The airport has two capsule hotels: Wait n’ Rest and Sleep Oasis. Both are located in Terminal 1.
Both terminals are home to a variety of restaurants, fast-food chains, and cafès. Plenty of shops are available along with duty-free stores. BOG also offers passengers several services, including pet relief areas, nursing rooms, luggage storage, and more.
Here are some popular ways to travel from Bogotá city center to the airport and vice versa.
Taxi: Imperial Taxi is the only authorized cab company assisting passengers in their trips to and from the airport. You can reserve your taxi on the airport’s official website.
Bus: Several buses also connect the airport to Colombia’s capital. In particular, you can opt for TransMilenio K86 or Feeder Route 16-14. The bus stops are located on the first floor of Terminal 1, in front of doors 2 and 4.
Car rental: You can also rent a car from one of the many agencies available on-site. These are all located in Terminal 1.
