Bradley International Airport (BDL) is the main airport serving Connecticut in the United States. It is the second-largest airport in the region of New England and a dual-use military facility, shared with the U.S. Air Force.
Located in Windsor Locks, it serves as the operating base for Avelo Airlines and Breeze Airways. It is the busiest airport in the state of Connecticut and the 55th busiest airport in the United States.
The airport consists of a single terminal building, with two levels. It is known as Terminal A.
The terminal is further divided in two Concourses, an East Concourse and a West Concourse.
On the ground floor, Lower Level 1, is the location of baggage claim and access to ground transportation.
On the Upper Level 2, is where the ticketing counters and security check-in is located for both concourses.
After clearing through security, is the Departures Hall. There are many shops and restaurants for passengers to explore while they wait for their flights.
To the right side of the departures area, is the East Concourse. It has Gates 1-12.
To the left side of the departures area, is the West Concourse. It has Gates 21-30.
There is a Sheraton Hotel located on the west end of the terminal. Guests must pass the security area to get between the hotel and the boarding gates.
There are several shops and restaurants for travelers to enjoy while at the airport. Before security, there is a coffee shop and convenience market located on the upper level.
Most of the shops and restaurants at the airport are located past the security clearance area. These include bookstores, media and electronics, jewelry and fashion outlets. There are also diners including cafes, fresh juice bars, casual dining, sit-down restaurants and licensed establishments to serve alcohol.
