HotelLocated partly in New Haven and partly in the Town of East Haven, Tweed-New Haven Airport (HVN) is a minor hub in Connecticut. Two airlines now operate here: Avelo Airlines and Breeze Airways. The former offers 31 destinations in the USA, while the latter has 11 domestic routes. Together, they managed to welcome 465,000 passengers between July 2022 and June 2023. Once known as New Haven Municipal Airport, HVN is located about 3 miles southeast of downtown New Haven.
The airport consists of a small terminal, making it easy for passengers to find their way around the building, with the arrivals and departures located next to each other. The terminal is quite old and was opened in 1931, so a new terminal is currently under construction.
Unfortunately, there are no sleeping cabins or nearby hotels for those wanting to spend the night at the airport. The only option is to rely on a taxi to head to one of the accommodations located in the area.
Due to its reduced size, amenities at HVN are quite basic. Here you will find a cafè and a bar where you can have a snack or a drink. Apart from these, services are limited.
