Houari Boumediene Airport (ALG) is the busiest airport in Algeria, welcoming several million passengers every year. It is located about 17 km southeast of Algiers and is named after Houari Boumediene, who served as the President of Algeria between 1976 and 1978.
This airport is divided into three terminals connected by shuttle.
Terminal 1: Also known as the Domestic Terminal, this building has a capacity of 6 million passengers yearly and is used by Air Algerie and Tassili Airlines. This terminal is equipped with gates G1-G17, a convenience store, and a domestic lounge.
Terminal 2: Terminal 2 is used for charter flights operated by Omra and Hadj and has five gates, G1-G5. It has a capacity of 2.5 million passengers per year and is home to a charter lounge and a medical center.
Terminal 4: This is the terminal used for international flights and has a capacity of 10 million passengers yearly. Here, you will find gates G01-G30 as well as a few lounges.

There are four main ways to reach Algiers city center once you arrive at the airport: by train, bus, taxi, and car rental. Here is everything you need to know about these:
Bus: The station is located outside the airport, and buses are operated by ETUSA, an Algerian public transportation company.
Train: There is a train station between terminals 1 and 2. You can check more information on the SNTF website. A trip to Algiers (AGHA) costs about 80 DA and lasts roughly 20 minutes.
Taxi: The taxi stands are located in the arrival area, and cabs operate 24/7.
Car rental: There are a few car rental agencies outside the terminals where you can rent a car for your stay in Algeria.
