Welcoming almost 18.5 travelers in 2023, Warsaw Chopin Airport (WAW) is the busiest airport in Poland. Located roughly 8 km south of Warsaw's city center, this is one of the three airports serving Poland's capital. With 26 airlines operating in this terminal, passengers here can choose from plenty of destinations worldwide. Warsaw Chopin Airport also serves as a central hub for some airlines, including LOT Polish Airlines, Enter Air, and Wizz Air.
Back in the day, Warsaw Chopin Airport consisted of two separate terminals; however, they were then merged into one. Today, the airport consists of a single terminal building known as Terminal A, with over 100 check-in counters and over 40 gates divided into five areas (A—E).
Those wanting to sleep at Warsaw Chopin Airport can opt for one of the two hotels in front of Terminal A: Renaissance Warsaw Airport Hotel and Courtyard Warsaw Airport. GoSleep's sleeping pods may also be available in the non-Schengen restricted area, near gates 2N and 3N.
Popular eateries, including Costa Coffee and McDonald’s, are available at the airport along with other restaurants and cafés. If you have enough time, you can also check out the duty-free stores at the terminal.
Once landed, you can opt for Bus lines 188, 175, 331, and 148, connecting the airport with several neighbors in Warsaw. Bus N32 operates at night, so you won’t be stuck at the airport even if your flight arrives late.
Trains are also available taking about 20 minutes to reach the city center. If you prefer to drive, you can opt for one of the car rental agencies in the arrivals hall.
