Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport (GSP) is one of the main hubs in South Carolina and is located about 4 miles south of Greer, between Greenville and Spartanburg. Seven airlines currently operate their flights here: United, Southwest, Delta, Breeze, Avelo, American Airlines, and Allegiant. These offer direct routes to over 25 airports in the country despite the airport being labeled as ‘International.’ In 2023, GSP welcomed a total of 2.56 million passengers, re-establishing itself as a primary hub in South Carolina.
This airport consists of a single terminal divided into three levels, making it easy for passengers to find their gate.
Level 1: This level is for ticketing, baggage claims, and ground transportation. You will also find a conference room and an information point.
Level 2: This is where passengers go through security controls before accessing the grand hall, which features a few eateries, stores, and a lounge. This area is also home to an airside garden where passengers can relax before their flight.
Level 3: Level 3 is divided into two concourses. Concourse A is home to Gates A1-A9, while Concourse B features Gates B1-B4. Both concourses are equipped with workstations, escape pods, and ATMs.
Unfortunately, there are no sleeping pods or cabins in the terminal. On the positive side, some hotels in the area provide a shuttle service to and from the airport.
Despite its reduced size, Greenville-Spartanburg Airport has plenty of amenities for its passengers. Here, you will find nursing rooms for mothers on both concourses, an airport museum in the grand hall, and free wifi. Some of the other amenities include a conference center, massage chairs, and a gallery displaying works from local artists. Restaurants and stores are limited but present in all areas of the airport.
Unfortunately, public transportation doesn’t serve this airport. However, those traveling here will be able to choose among a few alternatives:
Minivan, SUV, Shuttle Bus: The company Eastside Transportation is located a mile from the airport and provides minivan, SUV, and shuttle bus services to several areas, including the Upstate of South Carolina, Charlotte, Atlanta, Columbia, and Asheville.
Car Hire: Several car rental agencies are also available on-site.
Car Sharing: Uber and Lyft can pick up passengers from the front curb of the terminal.
If you’re heading here with your own car, you can choose among Garage A or B, Economy Parking Lots 1, 2, and 3, or the Valet Parking. A shuttle bus connects the Economy parking lot to the terminal.
