Often referred to as Rinas International Airport, Tirana International Airport Nënë Tereza (TIA) is the busiest airport in Albania. It serves the capital of the country, Tirana, and is located about 11 km northwest of it. About 20 airlines operate their flights here, offering over 100 destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and beyond. This airport also serves as the main hub for the country’s flag carrier, Air Albania, and Wizz Air.

This airport consists of a single terminal building extending over a single floor. It features a smoking terrace, self-check-in counters, several ATMs, and a first aid center.

While there are no sleeping pods or transit hotels in the airport, you will find several nearby accommodations that can be reached with a quick walk from the terminal.

Eating and Shopping at Tirana International Airport

Shops and restaurants are located both in the airside and landside areas of the airport. A duty-free store also sells several items, such as liquor, chocolate, and perfume.

Traveling To And From Nënë Tereza Airport

You can reach the airport or Tirana center by taxi, bus, or car rental.

• Car rental: If you prefer the comfort of having a car during your trip to Albania, you’ll be able to get one from one of the many agencies on-site. These are located in the outside area near the arrivals.
• Taxi: Taxis by Auto Holiday Albania can be found outside of the terminal 24/7. You can book your cab in advance through the official site. A trip to the city center costs about 2500 Lek and takes an average of 20-25 minutes.
• Bus: LUNA shpk provides a 24-hour shuttle service from the airport to Tirana National Theatre of Opera and Ballet. The trip is only 30 minutes and costs 400 Lek.
