Located about 12 km southwest of the center of Tashkent, Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport (TAS) is the busiest airport in Uzbekistan. It serves as the primary hub for the country’s flag carrier, Uzbekistan Airways, and welcomes several million passengers every year. Thanks to its position, TAS is also considered one of the main hubs in Central Asia.
This airport is divided into two terminals.
Terminal 2: This terminal is the oldest one but was renovated in 2018. It is used for international flights.
Terminal 3: Terminal 3 opened in 2011 and operates domestic flights.
If you're planning to spend the night at the airport, you can book a room at Qo'noq Tashkent Airport Hotel. This accommodation is only available to transit passengers traveling from Terminal 2.
Unfortunately, Tashkent Airport seems quite basic. While a few cafès and stores are available, services are still limited. The airport features a few lounges, but apart from these, there’s not much to do here.
To reach the city center you can opt for a taxi. Apps such as YandexTaxi and MyTaxi can help you find a driver. Alternatively, buses are also available. The stop is located right outside the terminals.
