HotelMalta International Airport (MLA) is the only airport in Malta. It is located on the island of Malta and serves all of the Maltese Islands.
It serves as the main hub for KM Malta Airlines and Medavia. It is also an operating base for Ryanair and its subsidiary, Malta Air. It is also home to the Area Control Center.
The airport consists of a single passenger terminal.
Operations at the terminal include general passenger services, a security checkpoint inside the main entrance area, and an extensive range of retail services. These include landside and airside shops, restaurants, and concession outlets.
The airport offers several dining options for travelers. These include cafes, juice bars, fast food and takeaway, international foods and high-quality restaurants.
Shops at the airport include pharmacy, bookstores, fashion and apparel, convenience and accessories.
There are two airport lounges. La Valette Clubs, are conveniently located for travelers in both the Arrivals and Departures areas. Here, guests can enjoy airfield views, an extensive reading library, free Wi-Fi availability as well as premium food and beverage selections.
Hotel Shuttles: Malta Transfer operates the airport’s official shuttle service between the areas most popular hotel destinations. Services can be booked from the baggage reclaim area.
Bus: Several bus services run from the airport to the local area. These include express routes. Tickets can be purchased from the Malta Public Transport Information and Sales Office inside Arrivals hall. Additionally, tickets can be purchased from vending machines on-site and the WHSmith outlet at the airport.
Taxi: Taxi services are available 24/7 from the airport. Pre-paid tickets are available from Arrivals hall. Regular taxis are available in addition to large passenger vans that can accommodate up to eight passengers.
Car rentals: Car rentals can be picked up or reserved, from the rental offices located at Park East. This building can be found using our map. It is located approximately a 3-minute walk from the main terminal.
Parking: The airport has two options for parking. One is surface parking and the SkyParks Business Centre. The second is at the Park East Multi-Storey Car Park where the car rental facilities are based.
