Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL) is the main international airport serving Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. It is the largest and busiest airport in Malaysia and the second most connected airport globally.
It is the major hub of Malaysia Airlines, MASkargo, Batik Air Malaysia, UPS Airlines and World Cargo Airlines, and the major operating base of AirAsia and AirAsia X. It is located approximately 45km (28mi) south of downtown Kuala Lumpur.
The airport has three terminals. They are named, Terminal 1 (T1), T1 Satellite, and Terminal 2 (T2).
Terminal 1 (Main Terminal Building): Contact pier is an extension of the main terminal building.
T1 Satellite (Satellite Terminal A): Passengers are transported by bus from the main terminal to satellite area.
Terminal 2: Purpose built for low-cost carriers.
There are no interterminal connections available between the Main Terminal Building and Terminal 2.
The airport has a variety of dining options available to choose from. These include fast food, cafes, bars, food courts, takeaway options, and sit-down restaurants.
There are a wide range of shops available for travelers including convenience stores, books and magazines, children’s toys, chocolates and confectionery, travel goods, gifts, souvenirs, luxury boutiques, duty free items, and the latest in electronics and technology.
Additionally, there are several lounges and hotels for guests to relax and unwind. These can be found located in Terminal 1, T1 Satellite, and Terminal 2.
Train: KLIA Ekspres runs a non-stop service between the airport and KL City Air Terminal (KL CAT) located in Kuala Lumpur Sentral. Transit time is approximately 28 minutes. There is also a transit train service that makes 3 stops, with a transit time of approximately 35 minutes. Trains are equipped with luggage racks.
Taxi: Two types of taxi services are available at the airport:
Bus: Several bus services operate from Level 1, Block C, Short-Term Car Park, and Level 1 of the Main Terminal Building.
Car rentals: Several car rental agencies operate at the airport. They can be found at Terminal 1, near the Arrivals Hall, and near the Short-Term Car Park at Block D.
Parking: Several parking options are available at the airport. These include short-term parking, long-term parking, preferred parking, Touch and Go, and motorcycle parking.
